Bringing it together

Ceramics, Photography and Painting use the same fundamental elements of art.  The use of space, form, line, colour, balance, depth and light are all considered in my art practice. My approach to my art is only further enriched by the pictorial language of a combination of all these disciplines .

Lynnette Passeri

I am a multidisciplinary creative residing on the fringes of Lake Macquarie in the beautiful hunter region of NSW.  As an artist I approach my subjects with as few pre-conceived notions as possible.  My strong discipline in Darkroom Photography allows me an element of honesty in all my works whether in print , paint or sculptural form. This practiced intention and intuition brings the depth and innate consideration I strive for to suggest life beyond the frame.

Raised in a small village and moving closer to the town of Bathurst in my teens, I would in time make my escape. Spending my young adult years travelling through Europe, doing what all Aussies did in the Eighties and work- save- travel- repeat.  Eventually though I did return home to raise a family and run a bookkeeping business.

Skip ahead too many years to mention and my life as it was had shifted and I was ready for a change.  The yearning to put into practice my intrinsic need to create had become the crux to my future. Graduating in 2017 from the University of Newcastle with a Degree in Fine Arts, I have been hitting the ground running ever since.

My work reflects my life as it was and in the present. It becomes a desire to connect with other people in some way, to tell them about myself and/or share each other experiences. What I look for in a project needs to resonate with life not only as I see it but also the interesting and personal viewpoint that the viewer shares. But more importantly I make art because I enjoy the process, and the exhilaration it allows.

Timing is everything and I believe that wherever you are in your life, you should always be ready to work hard and take pride in whatever the task at hand may be and right now I am where I need to be, doing what I want to do and loving every minute of it.

It's never to late to re-invent yourself
